The problem is back. Any hints?

It sounds like a software problem to me but I am just guessing. Several recent problems have turned out to be RAM related. I am starting to suspect RAM for my CDR-SCSI problem.

My only suggestion is to build the system again. Uninstalling software does not always put your system back the way it was. Also using the newest drivers is not a guarantee.

Here is what I would do. Assuming you do not have a system backup, start from scratch with a Win95/98 install. Run the machine through its paces as best you can..use large files for cutting and pasting with multiple applications at the same time. You want to make use of all of the RAM. If you have a different mouse try it for the early installation.

You might want to try one of the burn in programs mentioned earlier. Maybe someone will give us a link.

Given a working system, back it up with Drive Image or equal. Then proceed to the next software load and work your machine again. Then backup the system again and repeat.

This is the approach I use for software loads. I will generally make a backup before I load any new hardware or software. If something goes wrong I go back to the last installation and try again.

What is DELL's return policy? Can you turn in the machine and get a new one without knowing what the problem is?
