F D, Thank you for the link. I've looked over their web site, they seem to be the lobbying arm of Momentum Securities Inc, with a few other members. Individual members have no voting rights, but might in the future be able to pick up group health insurance. The group employs a former SEC commissioner to try to keep the SEC honest. Do you belong? Has it been beneficial? What are the "modest" dues? For the moment, I'll continue bumbling around looking for an org that wouldn't have a potential conflict between my interests and those of my broker. Thanks again for the link.
