Valentine...

I short once in a while, I also am long once in a while. often I daytrade up and down.

It is a challenge for me.

I am curious, why am I evil when I short sell, but not when I go long.

For instance, when I short sell AMZN at $220, and then cover at $189. then go long for a bit......

Was that evil, or was I (in the words of an analyst on CNBC) just a daytrading desk jockey?

I think I am a good person. I think AMZN is nuts at these prices, given they are still losing money, so why am I evil?

I am not the one that is turning the Internet stocks into a ponzi scheme.

It is the insane gamblers that keep pushing the price up.

I mean, The day that AMZN announced they would be selling videos, the stock shot up to $155.

Well I shorted at 145.75, 146, and 152, the next day I covered at 153 for a loss of $7500...

So...I didn't go over to the amzn thread calling the longs evil,

I simply waited for a bit, saw the insanity wasn't over, went long at $154, sold at $162, shorted at $165,

well, you get the picture.

So tell me, why am I evil....

because I have a knack for picking correctly which way the trend will go more often correctly, than incorrectly?

If it makes you feel better, I am very active in a number of charities, habitat for humanity for one.

So, short selling,...why is it evil?

You sir have no idea what you are talking about and anyone who follows you is an idiot...who will undoubtedly lose lots of money..If you want to go after short-sellers than you need to go after the insiders of 90% of all American small and medium cap companies..they account for the vast majority of short positions as they unload stock long before their stock becomes clear..they cut deals with market makers to hold short s for months sometimes upto a year after a big promo campaign and then they split the proceeds with the market makers by sometimes giving anywhere from 10 to 50% ...You are picking a fight with the wrong people,..i happen to think that a truthful and accurate short-seller is a better American than the most giddy of longs... Ther research of a short seller will blow the doors off that conducted by most long shreholders and we are not impressed by Press-releases one iota!!..
