"It seems to me that ANTC runs scared most of the time, and buckles under very easily. I think their management is made up of Don Knotts look-alikes."

Hiram,
Pretty funny! I appreciate your comments. I'm always open-minded to hearing other views. You have some good ones concerning ANTC. It is hard to argue how seemingly, "controlled," they are by John Malone of TCI. You would think, since ANTC is on the leading edge, in the right place at the right time, that they could actually make some decent money. But they are not doing as well as one would think they should. Their margins are under heavy pressure, even though they are the leading supplier of HFC products. And now this, somewhat, confusing deal regarding Northern Telecom. It was very hard to make sense of it initially. It seems to make sense, but your take on it could also be accurate too.

My hope is they get out from under the hand of TCI (and NT?) and are able to expand their customer base. They seem to be putting together a lot of products that are more and more appealing to other MSOs. They seem to be really optimistic about 1999. Maybe they are starting to get a lot of business from others beside TCI. I guess we will see in 99Q1. But the indirect interest both TCI and NT have in ANTC, kind of worries me.
Thanks,
MikeM(From Florida)
