Khalil, Tandy is one that hasn't been doing well in this area. Also, I have heard that pcs are the one part of Walmart that is not cranking out sales this Xmas season. Those are also Intel inside Compaq boxes. Something is wrong at Gateway, and I think it is Compaq Direct sales.

So, what we have seen is one major new player, Compaq Direct, gear up big time by buying a lot of components. But increasing the number of pcs on the mkt. does not increase the total sales growth. It looks like it to Intel, as they register a sale when they ship a Deuce to Compaq or Gateway. But, to my jaded eyes, it looks like a very large New Year's Day inventory headache for some producers.
