Ed,
I think the sharp move up will start soon. Those people that thought that the stock wasn't going anywhere due to the DOJ case are probably having second thoughts. If price goes to about 132 to 135 at any time, we should see more momentum buyers. This would lead more speculation about a stock split translating into fewer sellers of their shares -- therefore higher price.
I am still betting on mid 140s prior to earnings - and higher if earnings are much better than expected (should happen-63 cents).

When MSFT starts presenting their defense in this case,which is expected sometime in January, we could see a continuation of the momentum.
