Good strategy. SEG did the same thing on the way down. It topped out in Feb. 96 at 56 and declined to 34 by June and then shot up to 46 again in August and then dropped off a cliff a couple of months later. A lot of traders were hurt, including me.

Many thanks for a thoughtful post on the subject of shorting. I have to agree with all you said and until this year have never held a short position in my life. I have also never paid this much in commissions in a single year either. I am going to spend the holidays trying to settle in to some longer term thinking but I have doubts about whether the market will allow that.
