>> This time last year we had a lot more competition, a lot more...syqt was eating into jaz <<

s.b, i am very glad that you finally agree that syqt was eating into jaz sales. you never agreed earlier. Now i feel that iom's next worry should be CD-RW which is dropping in price every day and also gaining speed too. In fact, last year this time CD-RW was too expensive to own and now it is very affordable. I agree that it is slow, needs set up etc etc but all those are improving every day. I see more and more CD-RW adds and Jaz adds are very few. I think eventually HiFD and Superdisk will kill each other and though i am concerned about USB superdisk for short term, i think long term it will go away like syqt.
But i think this CD-RW competition is for real and hope IOM takes this
seriously. It is finally a cheap storage and is a serious competition to Jaz and to a lesser extent to Zip too.

But i do agree with rest of your posts and also feel that Zip's domination is increasing day by day. I only hope the CD-RW thing does not surprise us with much higher speeds and ease of use closer to zip.
