Yes, you are right about the gas wells, unless there are multiple targets.
I should read what I have written before sending - my mistake.
Oilwells are entirely different. I have wandered through some oil fields, such as those near Lloydminster, where you can just about touch two pump-jacks they are so close together. They look like graveyards with moving tombstones. These have 16 wells per 1/4 section.
