The truth of the matter is AT&T has been evaluating cable's broadband technology for more than seven years. Once the TCI deal closes, the new AT&T Consumer Services Company will be ready to execute a well-planned broadband access strategy. By the end of the decade, incumbent local exchange carriers (ILECs) operating in major TCI markets will find a vastly different competitive landscape.

I had no idea about the 7 year evaluation, nor was I familiar with the website cabledatacomenews til now <g>
