TCI Music TUNE and its music video division, the Box Network, announce a distribution deal with Disney-GTE-Ameritech internet cable venture Americast. . biz.yahoo.com

Interest piqued by this TUNE-DIS-GTE-AIT cable internet deal Songwire dug up some information that traders may find useful.

Without much fanfare Intel INTC has quietly made a deal with TUNE to become the sole sponsor of its groundbreaking FlashRadio- described as a visual radio station -

"TCI Music, Inc.'s SonicNet (http://www.sonicnet.com) and Macromedia's ShockRave (http://www.shockrave.com) will debut SonicNet FlashRadio, the first Internet radio station to entertain viewers with a lively mix of music hits, nonstop animations and music news -- all on one screen. Intel Corporation is the exclusive sponsor of this SonicNet and ShockRave co-production." biz.yahoo.com flashradio.com

While the market has been entranced by NAVR Navarre and the prospects for its Net Radio property, left undiscovered is TUNE's Sonicnet Internet Radio division {http://www.sonicnet.com/ click on Guide then Radio/Internet Radio}and TUNE's DMX Music division- which offers 95 channels of digital(read internet) music including a Virtual DMX player dmxmusic.com . TUNE's inroads into internet radio combined with its Box Network video service likely played a part in AOL's decision to make TUNE an anchor tenant in its soon to debut music site- traders may expect a release on the opening of the AOL/TUNE site-sometime this month.

"Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- SonicNet, a wholly owned subsidiary of (TUNE)TCI Music, Inc.,announced today that it will be an anchor tenant in the Music area on America Online, launching in December." biz.yahoo.com

Finally TUNE is majority owned by cable giant TCI, moving to complete its merger with ATT.

So what do Intel, Disney-GTE-Ameritech, TCI-ATT and AOL have in mind for TUNE? Anyone's guess- but Songwire notes TUNE offers both audio and video programming over the internet-not unlike recent IPO high flyer Broadcast.com BCST-trading 55s- though TUNE concentrates on the music arena while BCST offers a range of programming areas.Given its connections to these leaders TUNE may be worth watching.
