I agree with most os your post , however, I question some of your CD-RW assumptions. I do feel that the price points for CD-RW, especially the media, are attractive and seem to be a "potential" threat to IOM. However, the "ease of use issue",even now, is a very large obstacle for the CD-RW technology....

Don't you hate having to be so careful with your cd's, both the audio ones and those used with PC.........they scratch so easy sometimes.......that's something a really like about the Zip Disks...their ruggedness......don't own a Jaz drive or disk....could some one compare their ruggedness to that of a Zip disk.....I would presume that since they use HD media they are more fragile.

More random thoughts: the idea of something getting "burned", the term use to describe a CD being written on, inside my PC, while I'm sitting next to it,is somehow strange to me....please note I also do not have a CD-RW drive but i do have many samples of their media, CD.....lots of them somewhat useless because they are scratched.....I'm not the neatest guy in the world.....at least that's what my wife tells me.........every day :))

BTW are do you also post on the UIS thread?
