Thanks. As usual, you have figured out the flaws in the analogy. I just couldn't put my finger on the detail of why the analogy was not holding well...

Buying the house to live in - yes, i agree. But people sometimes buy timeshare, or a holiday home - even internationally. Anyway. Not really valid.

YHOO may not be at par with MSFT, but as a fledgling, was MSFT at par with IBM ? It never is so easy, we can only *hope* and *guess* the future potential, and that is why valuation models don't hold in instances of paradigm shift. But thats more yada yada on the same subject. One thing for sure - when YHOO *Has* grown to its full potential, valuation *will* be justified. It has to be. here we agree.
