This is a new area for gold/silver deposits, thus some senior firms who have shown interest will probably wait for Miranda to bring the property to a discovery hole stage. (Kaiser Apr.1998) They estimate $1,000,000 will be the minimum, but as often is the case, the costs will be greater. In addition, only 12 sq.km. have been mapped out in detail, while Las Catalinas is 175 sq.km. and the firm wants to survey most of it. Further exploration is required before drilling even starts. Mechanical trenching will probably be first.
A JV partner will reduce pressure on Miranda's treasury and avoid excess dilution. Mr.Fagan was assured that no rollback will occur.(Investor's Digest)
My personal view is, that initially, Miranda will have to drill by itself targets with the most potential to get anyone on board. Soil anamolies are fine and grab samples are excellent. Widespread mineralization also sounds great, but nothing beats a drilled core sample to show a potential JV partner.

Still the interest was shown (See Kaiser's article) and maybe a JV partner is not far away.

Thanks for the info. G.T.

Investor Relations told that in the new year, as events unfold, postings on the internet will occur. If some work is to start, this may be posted well before results of drilling, etc. are known.(ARP has some of these releases, ie: work program to start, and so forth).

Drilling is not dependant on trenching. I was a bit unclear in an earlier message. To what extent a JV arrangement is being pursued is unclear, although IR did discuss some of the factors which must be considered before any JV comes into being. Market conditions, the % rates each firm will have of the project, financing and so forth.

A JV arrangement, especially with a senior mining company will help in increasing prices, as will the drill results. I am not sure to what extent Miranda will push ahead with trenching/drilling before finding a partner, thus there is a potential that prices may increase before any JV agreement is signed.

So with all said I am still waiting to buy @23 cents today. It is tough for the moment to get someone to come down to the bid price.

I am curious on what basis the following newletter writers formed their opinions that Miranda is a good buy. Could have been based upon rock chip samples, widespread mineralization, or the large soil anomalies. They attend mining conferences, are in contact with management and between them have extensive experience.

On MAD's web site most are listed. Investors First says to buy, based on diverging weekly MACD. Grandich Letter-Peter Grandich even has options granted to him by the company. Kaiser & Chris Bunka both rate the firm as a strong buy for nearly a year now. Fagan Report-Mr. Fagan has purchased shares in the company.

Then why does it take so long to convince a potential JV partner?

I think patience is required for now and everything will come together eventually.
