I would not be wise to use a new product unless there is widespread support and a guarantee that the company will be around if / when you have a problem.

No reason to be on the Bleeding edge.

Hmmm, I guess Oracle going to go down the tubes then since their whole new database system (8i) and applications are based on Java.
