BIGGER, BUT NOT BETTER

Dec. 04, 1998 (VARBusiness - CMP via COMTEX) -- You talk about Tech Data and Ingram Micro and their white-box program. ["Rumble In the Box, Nov. 9, page 80]. Who cares? We all can still build our own-and cheaper and better-with better products. If the big shots, Ingram and the like, had stopped selling their machines long ago, Dell would not have made it.

Now is the time to dump the [Big 3 vendors]. Just watch them quit selling to our customers direct.

Our customers do not buy Compaq anymore because we don't sell them.
