This is America- but people still prefer to be around people who think the way they do. And many people with beliefs will always be suspicious of people without them. So you don't HAVE to keep your mouth shut- but you do have to be willing to suffer the societal consequences if you don't- THAT can't be legislated. I want my son, for example, to have the company the boy scouts offers him- he has no friends except for the wonderful little boys in his scout troop (who come from fairly religious homes.) I want my son to be able to play with these boys- this would NOT be an option if I refused to sign the paper work and if I went into a big spiel about agnosticism and what it means to ME. What I believe isn't that important, imo, if it ruins my kids social life.

E,

I suspect that you manage volunteers extremely well. I once tried it it, and got frustrated enough that I ended up doing all the work myself. Didn't last long. Your way is much better, I'm sure.
