Mike,

The town is called Paradise--a misnomer if ever there was one! Its elevation is approximately 2700 feet. There is now a foot of the white stuff out there, and it's still coming down.

Where/what is "emigrant gap?"

Are you planning to drive to the GWD place of worship? I thought I heard that I-5 is closed above Redding. Other possible highway closures were mentioned, but I didn't hear which ones.
