Yeah, Jean Lafitte is the right name. The fighters he supplied in the Battle of New Orleans are sometimes called Baratarians, probably a reference to where they were living. As I understand it, Lafitte supplied the artillery which General Jackson needed. If Jean indeed had heavy guns at his disposal, I suspect he may have been living up to his reputation as being more than just an entrepreneur. So what were you doing in little old Buras?
