<You make some good points however, why do you concider the value of a 100% functional trial/demo program to be of lessor value than one that is crippled? You were limited to amount of stocks you had in QP1 trial/demo.> You are missing the point. I am going to upgrade to QP2 and need some of the advanced scanning, but I am a current QP1 customer. The problems I have had is the way the upgrade was handled. Someone tell me where it was ever mentioned that QP1 was going to be discontinued. I got a postcard on about Nov. 18 saying it would be discontinued on Dec. 31. Did they just decide to discontinue QP1 at that time? I doubt it. It was probably always in the plans, and if that is the case, why didn't they mention it long ago? It was supposedly on the Welcome page at QP1, but why would a QP1 customer have a reason for going to that page? How much time would it have taken to put a note at the Download page? They finally mentioned it in the reports on Thursday, Dec 3, 4 weeks from being discontinued. I didn't even know anything about the advanced scanning features until I came into this thread, which I never knew about until I saw it mentioned in a newsgroup. The reason the demo was a great idea, was that someone could download it and in a couple hours could decide if it was worth it. The amount of stocks available was meaningless for trial purposes. That is a big difference from having to buy something, wait for it to come, then have to send it back. Most people have used shareware. Most of that stuff is tried and discarded. How much of that stuff would be ordered if it had to be sent back to get your money back. Like I said, I use QP1 so I was almost certainly going to get QP2. What about new people finding it on the internet? How many of them would download a version and try it versus having to order it? It always stuck with me that the demo for QP1 was a great idea. Why would they discard the demo idea when moving to QP2? RG
