Best Selling Servers- % of Resellers Citing Each Vendor
by: hlpinout

IBM increased sales but not at the cost of Compaq.

December 07, 1998, Issue: 820

John Roberts

Among best-selling server vendors in the small- and midsize-company market, IBM experienced a sharp increase in October, compared with September, according to CRN data. The gain came primarily at the expense of white-box servers and not from the company's major rivals such as Compaq and Hewlett-Packard. White-box servers continue to be the overall best-sellers in this market, however, and it remains to be seen whether IBM can sustain its recent momentum in this market.
