Something else struck me last night, and I've been thinking it over: Mr. Cramer himself makes the same distinction when he is the target. People can, and do, criticize his trading decisions, his writing style, his market calls. They can even get pretty personal about it.

But there's a line between criticizing someone and accusing them of illegal activity, and when a critic such as WmGladstone crosses that line, Cramer is in their face immediately, and rightly so.

It works both ways.
