Last July, Navarre put out a press release saying it intended to file a registration statement for an initial public offering of its Net Radio unit. Paulsen says a CBS Marketplace reporter called him last week for an update. Nothing more has happened with the Net Radio deal, but CBS put out a story anyway and that story apparently ignited the avalanche of trading.

How come no one is focusing on this very troubling part (in bold) of the story? It implies that what has been said (and, if anything, done) about the NetRadio IPO since the CBS piece is in reaction to the story (and the market) itself. Without the market reaction the IPO might well have continue to sit on the shelf. To me, this implies a much longer time horizon for the IPO than is being talked about here.
