There is no question that Dell is remarkably straightforward in their management style, and that CPQ is anything but.

Unfortunately, I don't think that has a lot to do with stock price, and only a little to do with the performance of the company. My sense is that CPQ is building momentum in the investment community (by whatever means) and that they could hit 50 in 1Q99. It seems possible that CPQ could even catch DELL in stock price somewhere in 1H99 (although not for long IMO) if DELL does not have a different story about corporate direction before then. 1Q99 will be very important for both companies in terms of the perception on the street.

Long term there is little doubt that DELL will do just fine.
