OT...

I am new to the DELL thread and primarily a lurker. But I was wondering if you have a DELLHEAD of the year award. If so I would like to nominate Mohan. Mohan your incredible contributions and excellent character deserve top honors. Cheers!

The news on the sub-$1000's will take the market by storm on Monday.

The only other thing that could help fuel the fire is if they make consumer models that are also sub-$1000.

I think it's a great counter to CPQ, who has been trying to build a niche in this market.

Hit'em where it hurts.

ref:Aberdeen on Dell

T.T. Tango:
I don't know how good Aberdeen Research is,or any of the other guys for that matter,ie AMR Research, Forrester Research,The Boston Group,The Yankee Group,IDC,Dataquest,The Hurwitz Group etc etc.I think one crude measure (not very reliable) of determining how good any of these guys are is to look for how often these guys are quoted in the general press, particularly in the business press and another one is to keep track of their predictions and analysis to see if any of it come true when the time comes.

BTW I have come across Aberdeen's name a few times, that is all I can say.
