Why do you say "show and tell", Bob? 40 The two choirs that gave thanks then took their places in the house of God; so did I, together with half the officials, 41 as well as the priests--Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah and Hananiah with their trumpets-- 42 and also Maaseiah, Shemaiah, Eleazar, Uzzi, Jehohanan, Malkijah, Elam and Ezer. The choirs sang under the direction of Jezrahiah. 43 And on that day they offered great sacrifices, rejoicing because God had given them great joy. The women and children also rejoiced. The sound of rejoicing in Jerusalem could be heard far away. 23 You who fear the LORD, praise him! All you descendants of Jacob, honor him! Revere him, all you descendants of Israel! 24 For he has not despised or disdained the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help. 25 From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly; before those who fear you will I fulfill my vows. 67:1 For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A psalm. A song. May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, Selah 2 that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. 3 May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you. 4 May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth. Selah 5 May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you. 6 Then the land will yield its harvest, and God, our God, will bless us. 7 God will bless us, and all the ends of the earth will fear him. I certainly do not say that the only way to praise the Lord God is corporately, but I know there are enough examples given(I have only listed a couple), whereby assembly and prasie go hand in hand. It is missing a blessing to turn these times down. Also taking communion with my family in the Lord is another blessing, and there are more!! Also many time I have gone and "at just the right moment" I have needed someones help, or someone has needed my help, and that would not have happened if I had not gone. I found out that the more my nose was stuck in there, the more God allowed me to be used. More blessings IMO. Plus don't you know that satan hates it when many voices are raised in praise to the One who saved us??? Things to think on, and I know I know... the hypocrites...... well as I said, where should they be? dan
