Rubin tells Clinton he wants to resign-Japan paper

TOKYO, Dec 7 (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin recently told President Bill
Clinton that he wanted to resign shortly after the Christmas holiday, a Japanese newspaper
reported on Monday.

Quoting unnamed U.S. government sources, the Sankei Shimbun reported out of Washington
that Rubin had sounded out Clinton about resigning his post, but that Clinton had asked him to
stay.

Clinton conveyed his ''strong desire'' to Rubin that he stay in the post at least until a replacement was found, the sources were
quoted as telling Sankei.

WJ -- The author of the article in the Chicago Tribune Wisconsin National Guard Y2K article had me going pretty good there for a bit until he wrote the following and I knew he had no real clue about Wisconsin:

>>>>.... The Guard will parade proudly through one-bar towns in a column of the Wisconsin Dells' "ducks," the amphibious landing craft from World War II.<<<<

There is no such thing as a **ONE BAR TOWN** in Wisconsin.

;-)

If you think the Wisconsin Guard thing is a riot, check out the Canuck's Project Abacus, eh.
