Subject: GM EV1 with Nickel metal Hydride batteries.
Comments:
Have I missed something or have you missed something? This Saturday in Los Angeles GM introduced its 99'EV1(Electric vehicle) with Nickel Metal Hydride batteries.

The GM/Ovonic manufactured batteries will more than double the range of its first generation EV and will provide mileage up to 140 miles per charge. The battery lasts at least three times as long as the previous lead acid battery which has dominated the battery business for almost one hundred and fifty years.

This battery could eventually replace all Lead Acid batteries for almost all uses. Thomas Edison died broke trying to accomplish the same feat. It is an historic event that has so far gone almost totally unnoticed.
