a KeroHeat if you remove the top grate and place the pan directly on the top of the
heater.


I personally have done this during a poweroutage in the winter. It works very well.

As far as a generator, I plan to use one only for short periods a day, to cool down a freezer and maybe run a microwave. I will need to have some fuel stored for emergency travel anyway.
