bm, you are not making any sense. - owwwww:-)

Why would bks sell off that which is very profitable to pursue that which is not profitable, and likely never will be?

if the net model will never be profitable why is bks throwing gobs of money at it?

1. bks missed its chance to purchase amzn, and then do away with it or close is brick biz and have enhanced shareholder value

2. amzn can not be thought of as a mere bookstore. it is expanding and as such, will burn cash to become market dominant and then profitable.

3. bks will never spin-off bks.com, bks.com would put bks out of biz. this is smoke and mirrors by bks to placat scared shareholders by an old school mgmt which does not understand the new school paradigm.
