Dear Greg: Sorry, I know nothing about Brake hoses, especially for BMW's. But dont know why you would change. As to brake feel, I would think driving students wouldnt know one from the other and if there is a difference, seems to me student should learn on what he is likely to be using in the REAL world. JDN

Greg-I installed stainless braided hoses on my last 914. Don't know if they were DOT approved. I got them from Automobile Atlanta in Marietta, Georgia. They are a Porsche specialist, but I'm sure would refer you to their source. They were always very helpful over the phone with tech questions. The phone # is (770) 427 2844.

I sold the 914 when I bought my first MR2 in '93, so I have not been in contact with them for several years.
