It is very likely that extensive damage to the existing well will require that a second well be drilled in order to access the reservoir and this will be a costly, time consuming procedure considering the depth of the well.

There's the rub. If a relief well in fact proves necessary then ELH #1 will end up being cemented off, plugged and abandoned. And, then after the relief well they'll need to drill and complete a producer in the Temblor to get this reserve on production. Might take a few months!!

I'd suggest that a cyber DAYTRADE OF THE WEEK AWARD might be contemplated for the party that closes his position at the highest price prior to any news of a relief well being necessary, or in the alternative opens a new position at the lowest price prior to any announcement that no relief well will be required!
