Market PreOpen

Broader market expected to climb at the open. Current level of S&P futures suggest Dow advance of approx. 25 pts

--- Major overseas markets mostly higher: Japan +0.6%, Hong Kong +4.7%, Singapore +1.5%, S. Korea +4.9%, Germany -0.4%, France +0.6%,
Russia +4.8% --- EarthWeb (EWBX) initiated with "buy" rating at J.P. Morgan (they were the lead underwriter of this one, though).

Tom,

Thanks I will read this as I am just now working my way through Barrons. God but they have been bearish since DJ4000. I have always believed that the Japanese just think they have a free enterprise system but it is actually a passive aggressive dictatorship/socialist controlled economy. The businesses are so intertwined that they are forced to march in lockstep both up and DOWN together. They either have ALL WINNERS OR ALL LOSERS!! No reward for innovations.

Can you imiagine Sam Walton, Gates, Michael Dell in Japan when they started?

Good point on deflation. I don't know what would happen. Really uncharted waters for anyone under 65?
