Rande Is,

These guys (SNRS) are competitors to VISX but the nice thing is that companies like LZRCF, LVCI and even LCAV (if they can get their act together) can benefit from ANY technological advances (VISX's LASIK and PRK systems, SNRS's LTK system and KERA's KeraVision Rings) since their physicians can be trained to do any type of procedure for a particular patient. These provider companies are actually the major common pathway through which this technology can reach the marketplace. For example, LZRCF (the current market leaders) are doing the LASIK procedure now and will be using the KeraVision Rings in the near future.

KERA may ultimately be the big winner here once the seductive lure of 'laser correction' wears thin (6 - 12 months?) and patients choose to select their corrective eye treatment based on safety, cost AND effectiveness. Right now these expensive and remarkable LASIK treatments are the HOT technology and they certainly make for good cocktail and dinner party chatter. As has been pointed out, KERA may jump soon on approval of its PMA but this will be followed by a fight for market share as competing ophthalmology groups release 'Phase IV' data which will look at things like patient satisfaction and the cumulative incidence of delayed or mild side effects.

SNRS certainly bears watching---just look at the VISX chart to get a glimpse of its potential.

What is your outlook on SEVL? Was there more to the move to 5 on Friday other than a TM buy rec?
