Dan

I read your post to me on the oils but forgot to thank you for it

TIE seems to me to be a super hold
but it is down like all the basic material stocks due to low demand, Asia, and flat pricing

the only reason I am not is is that I try not to attempt to catch bottoms any more; been burnt too many times
as you know, I try to wait for at least a tiny turn up and use buy stops to enter

if I was in this I'd use my old "bookend stop" method

sell stop at 8 5/16-3/8-7/16 to get out if it falls more
buy stop to get back in or add if it turns up at 8 7/8 and 9 1/4

business is soft and will continue into 1999

the company has warned that earnings will be way down for the next year due to falling demand and Y2K costs
but will still earn 1.25-1.75 next year

they have a book about $14
P/E of 4-6x's depending
big insider buying
and a 13% 4mm buyback in place

to me, this is an IRA type hold
buy and forget it
unless more bad news comes out I'd look for a 20-50% gain over the next 3-9 months

this is a market in which a solid, profitable company selling for way under book gets no interest while the fraud.coms of the world go up 200% in 15 minutes

TIE and others will have their day again; the only question is what year will the day fall in

PS: same business, same situation; is competetor RTI
