Two-prong strategy -- Resurgent Novell To Beef Up Channel And Direct Sales Forces
Joe McGarvey

Novell's expansion is further evidence that the company's turnaround efforts seem to be working. In late November, Novell exceeded analysts' expectations for its fiscal fourth quarter. The $298 million revenue marks the fourth consecutive growth quarter.

In addition, sales of NetWare 5 accounted for nearly 10 percent of the revenue. Analysts say those figures indicate that Novell is getting a jump on rival Microsoft Corp., Redmond, Wash., which is not expected to deliver the next version of its network operating system until next year.
