Bosco,
since AAN is also traded on the NYSE, I'm under the impression that they also have to file 10Q & 10K and all the other statements as their US counterparts. As more and more European companies get listed on bigger US markets (NASDAQ, NYSE, AMEX) their disclosure standard tends to converge to the US level.

Anyway, I wouldn't rate your investment style stubborn. You just have your principals. I also have a problem investing in a company that wants to collect "annual!" software rip-off licenses like MSFt had proposed to do this internally. IMHO this is quasi-monopoly behaviour. I don't invest in monopoly situations. OTOH it's against my principles, OTOH those investors can be badly beaten once the monopoly is broken apart by antitrust or the markets. Just look what happened to old Ma' Bell..
