OT - BlueFox, I haven't had much trouble with @Home yet, though I do know of one road-block, which I avoid. I avoid using the proxy server, as most of the time I get better results going "directly to the Internet". Unfortunately, I think that Bill forced them to give up their Sun proxy servers and go to NT-based ones, which stink. I downloaded the NT Server Option Pack last night - about 70MB, and it flew by in less than 5 minutes - an average of about 2Mbit/sec. While the cable bandwidth is 30Mbit/sec, and the maximum possible through the 10-base-t interface is 10Mbit/sec, 2 Mbit/sec still ain't bad for a sustained transfer across the net! (No proxy.) I note from running occasional traceroutes that they seem to have a LOT more peering arrangement in place lately, and I am getting very short paths to most of the big sites.
