Dell cuts corporate PC prices by 11 pct

NEW YORK, Dec 7 (Reuters) - Dell Computer Corp. (Nasdaq:DELL - news), the No. 1 direct seller of PCs, said Monday it
cut prices on certain corporate desktop computers by up to 11 percent, tieing the move to cost reductions and sales efficiencies.

The Round Rock, Texas company said it lowered prices on its OptiPlex desktop PCs after reducing the line's operating expenses by 13 percent over the last year.

In a statement, Dell said it achieved greater sales efficiency by increasing the number of orders it gets via the Internet and beefing up online technical support.
