ALL,

I live in Houston and Warner Cable has terminated the Signal data feed from DBCC. This was done early Friday morning. DBCC says no warning was given but when you talk to Warner they claim that they warned DBCC that they would no longer carry Signal/Stockedge. I don't know the reason for the sudden termination maybe they are having trouble paying their bills.

When you call DBCC they have different answers depending on who you talk to IF you can get hold of a live person. There seems to be real confusion and does not bode well for their future regardless of the Marketwatch IPO.

My understanding is that with the enormous advent of Level 2 from all quarters (Etrade, for example) DBCC has some real problems in their core business of delivering real time data for a fee.

IMO, you can stick a fork in them as they are done!!

Steve

On Topic:"ARE NET IPO'S COOLING OFF?"

"...By any traditional measures, the opening day gains of Net IPO's AboveNet (up 28 percent) and XOOM.com (up 146 percent) this past week would have both been labeled as respectable first day performers. However, in a year that has witnessed a record 606 percent first-day gain from Internet IPO theglobe.com, the past week for the Internet IPO market seemed downright tame. So this begs the question- Has the Internet IPO market finally started to cool off? Let's wait and see how upcoming Net IPO's such as InfoSpace and Marketwatch.com perform, before we jump to such a hasty conclusion..."[emphasis added]
