I do not believe they have signed a distribution deal in the USA. They have however found a contract manufacturer which they have not disclosed.

This is of no consequence. There is really no need to know which factory will produce the product.

If there are electronics involved with this assembly, I would have it manufactured in China. We work with several factories in China, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea. Korea would be another potential source. Due to the recent devaluation of the Won,' we are finding that Korea is now competitive with China for electronics assemblies.

The key if finding a consultant or company that can insulate you from your first experience with offshore manufacturing. We act as that insulator for OEMS also offering JIT product to them. We have electronics engineers and plastics engineers in house who qualify projects with our factories. We have 30 years of experience with offshore manufacturing and importing. Most factories who are currently working with have been with us for over 10 years. many of them are ISO 9001.

You don't go to China for only low labor cost. 70% of the cost of an electronics assembly is the bill of materials. We can save 25% on the bill of materials by sourcing overseas. We then save on the labor, which more than makes up for any import duties, shipping, and other fees.

My point is that CCSI could very well have looked at offshore manufacturing providing that there are electronics and plastic molding involved. If they have found the right factory they will have a low cost and high quality source.

Whether the product is being produced domestically or in China is no concern to you, as long as they have done their homework or hired a consultant who has done so. There is no need to know who the contract manufacturer is.

The only important and still open points are, who will market this product for them? and how soon can the product ship? $$$
