The RL intrudes itself into the impeachment process:

Presidential lawyers were discussing calling two panels of witnesses Tuesday and a third on Wednesday. Among the witnesses being discussed were the Rev. Robert Drinan, a Roman Catholic priest, and former Rep. Wayne Owens, two members of the Judiciary Committee that voted to impeach President Nixon a quarter century ago, senior administration officials said.
The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Clinton's lawyers hope to use such witnesses to make the argument that the Monica Lewinsky allegations are not nearly as serious as those against Nixon and that impeachment is too severe a punishment in this case.
Drinan, a Jesuit priest who teaches law at Georgetown University, was an outspoken critic of Nixon who wanted him impeached for the U.S. incursion into Cambodia during the Vietnam War. He wrote Monday in The Washington Post that he disagrees with incoming House Speaker Bob Livingston's view that a House vote to impeach Clinton is comparable to a grand jury's indictment, with final judgment left to others.

Wonder how Drinan views the bombing of the African Aspirin factory during the Monica War.
