Apple and Palm -- expect big things.

Throughout the morning, Apple sources have been ringing Black Light
Media's phones off their hooks -- the big news of the week is decidedly
what appears to be a strategic partnership between Palm Computing
and Apple Computer.

Despite the failed attempt by the Apple Board to buy Palm earlier in
the year, Apple seems to have struck a deal with the pam-top giant to
build a co-branded PalmOS computer with Apple hardware design and
Apple add-ons to the operating system. While this deal is relatively
recent and could see changes before going public, sources suggest that
regardless of the details, readers can be assured: Apple and Palm are
doing big things together.

What bearing this could have on the Consumer Portable product line is
not fully known. "P1," Apple's low-cost laptop, still appears to be
coming along smoothly, and will most likely be announced before the
1999 Apple Worldwide Developer's Conference. This Apple/Palm fusion
project is rumored to be a new addition to the product line, which
could potentially be bundled with all professional Macintoshes.....
