to all, funny article by cramer - he says that day traders believe there is instant wealth for the taking - i thought there was instant wealth for the taking! - he sounds a little bitter LOL: ... Wrong! Rear Echelon Revelations: Trapped in the Mind of a Mindless Day Trader By James J. Cramer 12/7/98 11:59 AM ET By mistake, I got trapped in a day trader's mind this morning, the mind of someone who was playing the "Instant Buffett on the Net" game. It's a popular game in which these day traders believe instant wealth is there for the taking. In a seeming Vulcan mind meld, or maybe just a spillover from last night's X-Files, I could hear the swirling cacophony of voices. Pretty wild stuff. It is what I would call "investing," late-'90s style. Here's what I heard in my mind-melded state this morning... Thank heavens! My Software (MYSW:Nasdaq) is finally running. That sweet CNBC interview is finally getting this thing on a roll! That's the beauty of these interviews: Usually the CEO knocks the ball out of the park and we can start moving on the trading patterns -- a pattern that just goes up. 'Course, that's not what happened last week. Naw, that SOB Cramer killed me and the boys with his interview of the CEO just as we were all trying to play the breakout. Got to keep moving, because this game is fast. Need to move in and out before that interview wraps up and the slowpokes join the fray. Darn, how much more time do I have to get out? The interview is wrapping up, and that's usually the signal to flee. But I'm not out yet!! What is with this e-broker of mine? Oh no, he's done; the interview is over. I got to get out. Oh no. Here it goes. My Software is dropping, sinking like a stone! Darn, give me some megahertz! Where's the #)(&$@ faster line? Those guys with the T-1s are killing me! When is cable modem coming to my hometown? This 56k stuff is killing my investing. Oh, it's dropping. This is painful. What does this company do, anyhow? Yeah, I can make it an investment. Hold it, who am I kidding? I don't know anything about this other than it was on CNBC and the moment it is over you have to blow it out. Except when that Cramer clown is on wrecking the trading pattern. Whew, I am finally out! I love My Software. I love MYSW. Just love it. What do they do again? Never mind. Great trade. Let's see, what's on CNBC tomorrow morning on "Squawk." Gonna love that, too! I love whatever is on except for alternating Wednesdays, when the rules don't apply...
