Article:Navarre soars, traders cite possible IPO
Monday December 7, 3:30 pm Eastern Time
NEW YORK, Dec 7 (Reuters) - Shares of Navarre Corp. soared 46 percent in heavy trade on Monday amid excitement that the company could soon sell its Internet unit to the public, traders said.

Shares of the Minneapolis-based software and music distributor rose 3-5/8 to 11-1/2.

When asked about a possible initial public offering of its NetRadio online unit, however, Spencer Moss, director of business development at Navarre, said no terms had yet been filed with the Securities & Exchange Commission and that he could not comment further.

But traders speculated that the company might file terms with the SEC for the offering.

''What's happening to the Internet ones is that anyone who has an Internet business has a fiduciary duty to spin it off to a general public,'' said one over-the-counter trader. ''I think that's what's happening here.''

''(Navarre is) one of those wild stocks that gets caught up in the frenzy,'' said another trader.

The company this summer said it planned to file the offering, but it has not yet done so.
