My intuition is saying that one morning we will wake up in North America and gold will be up $15 and all hell will break loose on the gold stocks. It looks like there are some itchy fingers waiting to pull the trigger as soon as the big gold move looms.

Searle: I think POG went up today beacuse of a story that Treasury Secretary Rubin wants to leave soon. Market ignored another story saying that the Germans may be changing their stand on IMF gold sales from no to yes. So bullion acted pretty well. But the shares were pathetic.

And as I said earlier my confidence that oil will in time approach $20 again is much greater than my confidence that gold will ever again approach $400.
