Thanks for that REFERENCE - it holds some GOOD NEWS !

From that table, it looks like Katmai is going "on sale" January 3, 1999 - although the official launch may be somewhat later.

January 24 looks like the Mobile DIXON Roll Out date.

Perhaps I'll delay purchasing a new notebook computer until then.

It'll be worth the wait !

That chart on ebnews looks like it has the columns aligned wrong for the Katmai introduction. I think we would have heard thru the rumor mill that the date had been pulled in to Jan 3. But we've only heard Feb 28.

Notice that the footnote for * refers to the 533 in June, which makes sense. I doubt that Intel can push the .25 micron process to 533 and still keep it manufacturable. I think the 533 will be on .18 micron.

Also, the chart shows the 450MHz Katmai at $530, and the 450 Pentium II at $562 on Jan 3. That makes no sense either.
