Hi Frank:

Although I support unbundling of twisted pairs, I agree that
proposals requiring unbundling of DSL infrastructure are
unreasonable, since much of this infrastructure does not
result of the earlier monopoly status of ILECs.

Regarding WCII opening up its spectrum, note that the
broadband wireless market is much more competitive
than the twisted pair market: we already have WCII
at 38GHz, TGNT at 24GHz, LMDS operators at 28GHz, and
soon the FCC will open up 1.6GHz for bidding at 38-39GHz.
So potentially, urban markets could have 4 or 5 broadband
wireless service providers. I do not think the market can
support that many, but for a while, we could see robust
competition.

BTW, thanks for the interesting historical tidbits on the
origins of MFNX and several other CLECs. It is really
amazing how entrepreneurial this country can be.
