Steve, there really isn't any bias in this article that I could find. The bias that I have seen recently is very subtle, and I think one of the reasons for that is that the "special relationship" that Israel has with the United States seems to be fraying badly at the edges. So there is more objectivity in the American press.

One bias that I have noticed recently is how about how Netanyahu seemed to agree to release several hundred Palestinian prisoners during the Wye negotiations. However, when he returned to Israel, he released prisoners like car thieves, not political prisoners. This infuriated the Palestinians. I read an article in the Irish Times which discussed this issue at much greater length; the one I saw from Associated Press pretty much glossed over it. In the American article, Netanyahu is quoted as saying that no Palestinian prisoners with Israeli blood on their hands will ever be released by him. However, most Americans are pretty much brainwashed to see the Israelis as freedom fighters and the Palestinians as terrorists, and don't immediately realize that all the early Israeli leaders are admitted terrorists, and that many of them are responsible for hundreds or thousands of killings of innocent Palestinians. There are many, many Israelis with Palestinian blood on their hands!

I also think most Americans see the Palestinians throwing rocks at the Israelis on television news broadcasts and think something like, how rude, no wonder the Israelis are so upset! They never go to the next step of wondering why the Israelis have guns and the Palestinians don't, or why the Palestinians always seem so angry! Really objective news coverage would cover these issues.
