Yesterday (Sunday), I was sitting around with some friends at lunch, and we were joking/speculating about what the next hyping press release from AMZN would be. We knew there would be one since every time AMZN's price is about to crack, Bezos cranks something out, and the stock was sure teetering on Friday. (The last time the stock took a dive and was about to free-fall, the stock split was announced, which everyone knew was going to happen but had been put off for just such an occasion. It worked that time.) I suggested that AMZN would announce that it was selling Beanie Babies online, but instead we find that AMZN will be selling links instead of its own products, which seems weak to me.

Another thing: though there is no Internet sales tax yet, you can bet that it will happen eventually. Why wouldn't the government take a piece of the pie if it can? So far it has been put off because Al Gore wanted people to get on his "information superhighway," but once enough people are on, a toll will be charged, IMHO.
